Pork or Vegetable Pot au Feu and Sloppy Joes

Pork or Vegetable Pot au Feu, Creamy French Lentils, Whole Wheat Batard

  • Add the pork and its stock to a saucepan. Heat gently over medium. Use a lid. When the stock has liquefied and begun to heat, gently add the vegetables and their broth. Use the lid and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir as little as possible - it's delicate. Simmer 3-5 minutes to ensure everything is heated through and the cabbage is fully tender. Ladle into bowls.

  • Heat the lentils on the stovetop or in a microwave. Serve on the side.

  • Warm the bread and use to sop up the other dishes.

Sloppy Joe w. Challah Rolls, Home Fries, Snug Haven Escarole Salad

  • Heat the sloppy joe on the stovetop or in a microwave.

  • Split rolls crosswise and lightly toast.

  • Heat a little oil or butter in a pan. Cut the potatoes crosswise into 3'rds or 4'trs. Don't go thinner than 1/2". When the oil is hot add the potato 'coins' and let them fry in the oil over medium-med high. Allow them to brown well on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Turn them individually, don't just toss or spoon them around. Salt and serve hot. Ketchup is allowed.

  • Dress the salad.
