Pork or Vegetable Pot au Feu, Creamy French Lentils, Whole Wheat Batard
Add the pork and its stock to a saucepan. Heat gently over medium. Use a lid. When the stock has liquefied and begun to heat, gently add the vegetables and their broth. Use the lid and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir as little as possible - it's delicate. Simmer 3-5 minutes to ensure everything is heated through and the cabbage is fully tender. Ladle into bowls.
Heat the lentils on the stovetop or in a microwave. Serve on the side.
Warm the bread and use to sop up the other dishes.
Sloppy Joe w. Challah Rolls, Home Fries, Snug Haven Escarole Salad
Heat the sloppy joe on the stovetop or in a microwave.
Split rolls crosswise and lightly toast.
Heat a little oil or butter in a pan. Cut the potatoes crosswise into 3'rds or 4'trs. Don't go thinner than 1/2". When the oil is hot add the potato 'coins' and let them fry in the oil over medium-med high. Allow them to brown well on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Turn them individually, don't just toss or spoon them around. Salt and serve hot. Ketchup is allowed.
