Sloppy Joes and Root Vegetable Bisque

Sloppy Joes on Challah Rolls w. Baked Beans and Pan Fried Potato

  • Heat the sloppy joe mix on the stovetop or in a microwave ( in bursts, stirring regularly).

  • Split and toast the challah rolls. Serve the joe on the rolls. We prefer open-face.

  • Heat the beans gently on the stovetop adding the tiniest bit of water if necessary ( or to clean out the jar.) Stir. Adjust the seasoning. Serve.

  • Cut the potatoes into approximately 1" chunks. I do this by splitting the lengthwise in 1/2. Then splitting each 1/2 lengthwise again, then cutting crosswise into 1" pieces. Heat a little oil and or butter in a nonstick or well seasoned pan. When hot, add the potato and pan fry them to a golden brown on at least 2 faces. Abut 2 -3 minutes per face. Transfer to a plate, season with salt and pepper, and serve.

Root Vegetable Bisque, Whole Wheat Batard, Escarole Salad

  • Warm the bread.

  • Dress the salad.
